Something new

I decided not to post my menu this week because it was very blah and boring. In fact, I had $15 left over from my $35 budget, and Brad suggested I go back to the store and use it to "pep" up the menu a little bit :). I thought it would be very thrifty of me to use up some of our not-so-favorite things. He said my budget might get cut if I make a habit of this. Somehow, I think we will all survive :).

Kathryn and Olivia have always been crazy about pushing each other around in their baby doll stroller. I remembered this picture the other day and thought it would be fun to get a recent one to compare with.

Then I just had to post my crazy deals from CVS last week! I wanted to post them last week so you all could take advantage of them, but I just never got around to it. If you're interested in learning how it works, go to Money Saving Mom and look over to the right for the CVS 101 Tutorial. She has literally saved us hundreds of dollars!

1 - Jumbo pack Pampers Swaddlers
1 - 8 roll pack Bounty paper towels
2 - 32 loads Tide
5 tubes of Colgate toothpaste
2 bottles Garnier face wash
5 full size TRESemme products (hairspray, shampoo)
1 Secret deoderant
2 Johnson's kid's soap
4 bags Hershey's candy
8 Russel Stover's eggs
2 - 10 packs Wrigley's gum

$11 out of pocket

When I went to Target later that afternoon, I just sort of walked around comparing prices, and I figured up that I had $95 worth of products! Crazy, huh?!?

Ha...you already have enough toothpaste to last ya'll a year. I would think storage would become an issue at some point.

It's hard to imagine cooking on a 35 dollar a week budget, but probably over the past 3 to 4 weeks, I have bought zero meat (other than deli meat for Matt's lunches) ...which saves a ton. I've just been using up the stockpiled meat I have in our deep freezer. I'm so nervous that we are just going to pick up and move in the next month or so, and I won't know what to do with all of the food we've invested in.

I am so glad that someone has the time and patience with 2 small kids to go compare prices. There is no way I would even try! Our kids are way to hyper for that!!! Last night after services we stopped al Walgreens. I got Shampoo, conditioner, and 2 styling products along with 6 different things of make up for 1.25 out of pocket! CRAZY I feel like I am stealing sometimes it is so cheap!!!

That's impressive! I really need to get on that CVS train! I think that gum might last you a day or two ;).

I'm impressed at all you got, but I'm sort of like Kerrie---I'm not sure I have the patience to figure all that out!! I seem to have trouble just getting to the grocery store ;>) (They are building a CVS within a mile of us, though, so one will be close.)

I didn't know if you'd be at the meeting or not, or which days. Unfortunately, we are planning to NOT be there on Sunday AM; it's Easter and we are having dinner with friends and family in Nashville and will be worshipping there. However, we do plan to be back for Sunday evening services, so hopefully you'll still be there and we can see you then !
